only today are the advantages of having a fleet of submarines profitable. The submarine could’ve been the deciding factor in the war on the water, however American and British anti-submarine inventions hindered Germany’s victory. We have found new ways of propulsion, air replenishment while underwater, communication, depth control, and armament. Indeed, the submarine does play a vital role in our history and the existence of our Navy. Without it, where would we be?
