Many people in the United States disagree on whether the U.S. should go to war with Iraq. Bush’s speech it is apparent that he is ready and willing to go to war. In Strauss’ and Friedman’s articles, they are much more open minded about the situation in Iraq. They are able to see many viewpoints while President Bush’s narrow focus is to remove Saddam Hussein from power by whichever means possible at the expense of responsible homeland security and efforts to address the poor economy in the United States.
