The Theme of Mirriam
In the short story “Mirriam”, Truman Capote does an execellant job portraying Mrs. H.T. Miller’s character by showing us the many changes she goes through in her personality, style of apartment, and how she acts under stress. In the end when Miriam told Mrs. Miller that she was going to live with her forever this meant that Mrs. Miller’s life was going to be different from now on. But no matter what happens she will always be Mrs. H.T. Miller. The woman who lives in a neat house, owns a canary, and cooks her own meals.
