Due to Banks exquisite use of narration, character and shifts in time period, the novel comes out the sweeter taste, unlike the movie which is like coffee flavoured chocolate its bitter and sweet at the same time. In the movie there are lose ends while the novel leaves nothing hanging. ‘The Sweet Hereafter’ novel is not a book to get from the library it is a book to add to your library.
