Therefore I agree with the quote by Duff Brenna, "All literature shows us the power of emotion, it is emotion, not reason, that motivates characters in literature." The Glass Menagerie proves this quote to be correct. Characters in literature follow their emotional needs, logical, reasonable actions are most likely not to occur.
