experiences to show how the Beats were considered different and rebels of the fifties. On the
other hand, Tytell just states what the Beats were, and goes into extreme detail about every
aspect of their characteristics. Halberstam’s piece was a lot more enjoyable to read because it
was short, concise where as Tytell’s piece got kind of long and boring after a
