Born in San Francisco, Robert Frost was 11 years old when his father died. His family moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts with his paternal grandparents. In 1892, Frost graduated from Lawrence high school and shared valedictorian honors with his future wife Elinor White. Frost then attended Dartmouth College briefly, thought at grammar schools, worked at a mill, and served as a newspaper reporter. In 1897 Frost entered Harvard University as a special student but left before completing his degrees

literature. Frost continued to write poems and received many awards and honors. He recited some of his work at the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy in 1961 and represented the U.S. on several official missions as well.
In the latter part of Frost’s life his reputation waned. His last 3 collections did not receive enthusiastic reviews but they did contain work that was acknowledged as some of his greatest achievements. Robert Frost died on 1963.
