Affect on Youth Some adults felt that swing was the cause for the rise in juvenile delinquency. They felt that late nights, sexual swing dancing, and race mixing were a bad influence on children. This led adults to close down teenage clubs and ban the use of jukeboxes. Swing music that was originally suppose to be about freedom and giving children some fun ended up getting them in trouble for enjoying it.
