and leave there civilized lives behind them. We are able to see this with the “beastie”, and the fire. We see the power struggle between the savages and civilized by the fight over Piggy’s glasses. With Golding usage of these symbols we can see the transformation from civilized to savage and able to see when there is no political structure or a stable set of rules humans change to their primitive state of being.
