portrayal of Lena “…like a rainbow after the rain…” describes the essence of her character. When I read over The Glass Menagerie, I was especially touched by Amanda wishing “…success and happiness for my (her) precious children” - on the moon. As I looked at the full moon in the sky that night, I made a wish of my own, to find my own strength in desperate times, as the two women in the plays have.
