To conclude, milton's and butler's political and social attitudes towards restoration of monarchy are completely different. Milton as a puritan was totally against monarchy and kingdom. And so he, in his paradise lost, presents all kings and sultans as a satan. But on the other hand, Butler as a man who had seen all controversies between puritans and anglicans and who lived in a very repressive regime celebrates the monarchy and anglican church.
