Mickey Charles Mantle was born on October 20, 1931, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. Mantle's parents were named Elvin ("Mutt") and Lowell Mantle. Anyone else with this disorder would have been very weak and fragile but Mickey stayed strong and continued playing baseball with his weak legs. Also, his drinking got to him and that brought upon more diseases, to make him extremely sick and bring him to his death.
