Using political terms as an example, a democratic system can be easily changed into a dictatorship because of a small reason whether it be a coup or anything else. In the novel “Lord of the Flies”, the children changed from civilized school boys to savages all because of atavism. Atavism either majorly or minorly affected them but either way, it did.

and let atavism get the best of him. The atavism affected Roger pretty badly, too. Roger is a sick-minded mischievous boy who really needs help. All these boys contributed to the outcome of the story. Everything was in order and organized but slowly, each one of them contributed one way or another to the destruction of the organized democracy and it turned into a dictatorship; Jack being the dictator while Ralph and Piggy the victims.
