her Granny while pointing the rifle directly at her, trying to provoke fear. I believe the author is portraying this character, the young hunter, as an evil force that Phoenix must reckon with through her final journey.
To conclude, author Eudora Welty’s short story details the main character with imagery to enlighten the reader. Foreshadowing was vague, but left the reader with an idea of the outcome with the use of symbolism.
