Ethan somberly accepted the life he couldn¡¯t escape, Zeena, I feel, used her ¡°ails¡± as a way to cope with her unhappiness, and Mattie, well I guess she just didn¡¯t know what it was like to so unhappy yet and was able to enjoy happiness where she found it.
