Edgar Allan Poe was a great writer who was born in Boston, January 19, 1809. He died on October 7, 1849. He was a writer known for his poems and short stories. He was the son of David Poe Jr. and Elizabeth Arnold Hopkins. Both of Poe's parents were members of the Boston Theatre. the moon beaming reminds him of Annabel Lee, comparing her to the prettiest part of the night. “…And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes…" for that line he is relating the shining stars and the beauty of them to her eyes, and they are up in the sky where heaven is supposed to be.
