what Nathaneal West desired to show us. The film showed us a Hollywood indifferent to what happened to the people that came to become a star and the madness and hate that this created. The paints a portrait of Hatred from people that had spent there lives saving to come to this ripe land of oranges and dreams only to find the oranges sour and there dreams used up and thrown in a empty lot.
