Diversity is a subject that has brought much education to America and is accepted nearly everywhere today. In early colonization, however, diversity was something to be purged. Many prejudiced beliefs separated the colonists and their colonies by race, religion, and even sexes. Political power was singled out to those who had the correct genes, but not necessarily the right mind. Many avoidable, but devastating mistakes were made. European’s had not been so ignorant in the truth of diversity, there would have been less of a massacre at the making of America. Mistakes that nearly wiped out the Indians could have been prevented. History does happen to repeat itself quite frequently, and this would be a horrible repetition if it were allowed to continue. Perhaps we can prevent further misunderstanding in the future by not being quite so selfish, arrogant, or close-minded.
