Criticisms of Christaller’s model include that its not applicable to all settlements, it doesn’t take into account of random historical events, makes unrealistic assumptions about the information levels required to make rational economic decisions, it ignores the variety of individual circumstances, it assumes very little governmental influence on the business location and decisions, and it is a static formulation that relates to the distribution of service centers in one point in time.
