Throughout his adventures, Beowulf demonstrates bravery which when carried to an extreme results in foolhardiness, a characteristic of the human condition that is valid today and forever.

If it were not for his foolhardiness, Beowulf may have defeated the dragon and still lived on to collect the treasures. Excessive bravery may lead to foolhardiness, a flaw in the human condition both in Beowulf’’s time and today. I would recommend this epic poem both for those who enjoy adventure and those who want to gain insight into the human behavior.
