Behaviorism
A behavioral theorist would say, “a person is what a person does” (www.psych.nwu.edu). Behaviorists challenge Freud’s theories which concern inner conflicts. Instead, behaviorists believe that a phobia would be caused by a certain stimulus, that learning is based on consequences produced by responses, and that one’s personality can be formed from external observable events.
