Emancipation Proclamation allowed blacks both in Confederacy and the Union to be free, and to enjoy some of the basic necessities of life. Slave owners especially those who enjoyed the finer things in life and the ones with a capitalists mentality may not share the same views. Abraham Lincoln achieved his objective, because he stated, "Slavery was wrong"
