I’ve always had nicknames. My father has always called me his "Ally Bear." Now my friends address me as "Alita Bizarre the Refugee" which is whole different essay. I’ve learned to embrace nicknames now, even "Alice in Wonderland," as a way for my friends and family to show me affection. Maybe even to show me something about myself.
