In the preface, Wilde says there is no such thing as a moral or immoral book. Despite this claim, The Picture of Dorian Gray is a very moral book. The moral is that an absence of spirituality and regard for human life separates an individual from humanity and makes a monster of them. Therefore the aesthetics of this novel were with moral implications.
